ياكوبا ساوادوگا، از بوركينا فاسو، با تحولي در شيوه ي سنتي كشت از طريق <ازي> يا كندن حفره در زمين خشك توانست زمين نازاي سرزمينش را دوباره بارور كند. سر او كندن حفره قبل از فصل باران است. او گودال هاي زمين را كمي وسيع تر و عميق تر و قبل از فصل باران مهيا كرد. از سنگ و كلخ براي ساختن ديوارهاي كوتاه براي نگهداري آب استفاده كرد. گودال ها را با بذر و كمپوست ته نشست كرد. از مواد ساختماني موريانه ها هم كمك گرفت. نتيجه اش پا گرفتن جنگلي بارور در سرزمين خشكش شد. او مي گفت الان هيچ درختي نيست كه در اين محيط پا نگيرد و هيچ بيماري نيست كه توسط درختي علاج نشود. ياكوبا ساوادوگا در ٧٧ سالگي در دسامبر سال ٢٠٢٣ در سرزمين خود درگذشت. به او لقب دادند : مردي كه صحرا را كنار كشيد 🍀🪶🌿✨
